James Eric "Jim" Norris Jr.

James Eric Norris, 93, of Lorenzo, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2025, at his home.
James (Jim) was born on May 16, 1932, in Taylor, Texas, to James and Cleo Norris. After the death of his father, Jim and family moved to Chandler, Texas where he lived until he graduated. After graduation, Jim joined the Navy. Jim married Jackie Browning on August 28, 1954. Together, they raised their children, Dennis, Nancy, John Russell, and Zachary.
Jim was a lifelong "student". He started his career in education as a teacher, then Principal, and retired at 68 as a Super Intendent from Lorenzo ISD. Jim was always asking questions and learning. He never met a stranger, and if he talked to you, he remembered you.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James E. Norris, Cleo Williams Norris Norman, and Fred Norman, his wife Jackie Browning Norris, his brothers Alfred (Bubba) Norris, William Taylor Norris, and Robert Lee Norman, and two great-granddaughters Blaykely and Trenly Roberson.
He is survived by his children Dennis (Jenny) Norris, Nancy (Keith) Fruge, John Russell (Yvonne) Norris, and Zachary (Randi) Norris, his grandchildren, Megan Fruge Smith, Nichole Norris, Casey Fruge Gary, Erin Norris Christianson, Jamie Fruge, Jenee Norris Devoll, Brian Fruge, Ali Norris Roberson, Derek Norris, Hunter Broom, and Caleb Norris Steward, and 21 great-grandchildren.
