We come together today to remember and celebrate the life of James Luther O'Neal, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who left us on September 16, 2025, after a short illness. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 31, 1954, James remained a proud Texan throughout his life, passing away in the same city that had always been his home.

James was a man of many talents and interests. A graduate of Richard King High School's class of 1972, he was known for his analytical mind and creative spirit. These attributes served him well in his career as an electrical engineer in the oil field, where he was respected by his colleagues for his problem-solving abilities and his knack for innovation.

Outside of work, James was a man who found serenity in the outdoors, whether he was casting a line while fishing, tracking game on a hunt, or simply enjoying the sun on his face at the beach. James also had a love for cinema and loved good BBQ.

He is preceded in death by his dad L.B. O'Neal Jr. and mom Doris O'Neal. He is survived by a son Bryan O'Neal, daughter Kimberly O'Neal, and their respective families, including his grandchildren Stella, Alexandra, Isabella, Xavi, and Brian, as well as his great-grandchildren Sabrinna, Said, Sariel, and Logan. James's presence will also be deeply missed by his sister Darlene Rhea, nieces Heather Rhea and Shannon Silvernail, nephew Josh Rhea, and the many great-nephews and nieces.

James's wishes will be honored with cremation and celebration of life to be determined at a later date.

If EVENTS are posted below, floral tributes may be ordered for those services, otherwise, floral tributes will automatically be delivered to the primary family address on file.
