James W. Odom Obituary
Mr. James W. Odom, 84, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, June 7, 2024, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Millry, AL on Friday, August 25, 1939, to the late Herman W. and Julia Ann Odom. Mr. James served in the United States Army. He was a member of Waynesboro First Methodist. He retired as a manager at Blossman Gas Company in Waynesboro, MS.
Mr. James is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carol Odom; father, Herman W. Odom; mother, Julia Ann Cartwright; brother, Homer C. Odom; sister, Willie Lee Daniels; Brother-In-Law, Mack Daniels. He is survived by his two sons, Chris Odom (Nikki) of Waynesboro, MS, Scott Odom (Shannon) of Ellisville, MS; sister, Virginia Odom Toney (Thomas) of Batesville, MS; five grandchildren, Parker Alexis Odom, Heidi Elizabeth Odom, Alex Scott Odom, Kambree Nicole Odom, and Landree Christopher Odom, all of Waynesboro, MS; two Sisters-In-Law, Vickie Odom of Waynesboro, MS, Bea Giles (Eddie) of Gilbertown, AL; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. James will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Steven Bruns officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Ron Odom, Clay Giles, Mike Chappell, Ennis King, Randy Toney, and Scott Walters. Honorary Pallbearers are Oliver Brown, Ben Daws, Larry Gandy, and Bill Baker.
