James C. Oldt

James C. Oldt, 81, of Mill Road, Lehighton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, in his home. He was the husband of Sarah J. Frey. They were married for 58 years.

Born on Feb. 13, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan, he was a son of the late Charles, and Shirley (Parmeter ) Oldt.

A graduate of Muskegon High School, he served our country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army for 22 years, having been deployed for three tours of duty during the Vietnam War.

After retiring from the military, he was a pressman for the Times News for 16 years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Mahoning Valley.

James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are two daughters, Lisa S. Allesch, wife of Frank, and April M. Danner, wife of the late Samuel Danner; a son, James C. Oldt Jr., and his wife, Cammie; two sisters, Julie Minzey and Helen Twinning; a brother, Robert Oldt, and his wife, Gaetane; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
