James Michael Osso, age 72, of Shelton, entered into rest on Sunday, January 28, 2024 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of 40 years of Elisa (Pasqua) Osso. Jim was born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1951, son of the late Ernest and Michaelina (Daston) Osso, and lived in Shelton most of his life.
He started his career as a Shelton Police Officer, retiring after 18 years of service. He continued his family business, Prestige Industrial Finishing, which he co-owned until 2019. Jim loved being with his family, fishing with his children and grandchildren, Sunday family dinners, and family vacations to New Hampshire.
He is the beloved father of Vanessa Briodagh, her husband Ken and partner Daniel, Adrienne Benoit and her husband James, Robert Osso, and James Osso and his wife Kate, and cherished grandfather of Aislynn, Aurelie, Tristan, Nora, Mikey, Jayden, Mikki, and Ellie. Jim is survived by his sister, Rosanne Cole, and also leaves the Proto Family, lifelong friend Tony Branca, and many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richie Osso.
Friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton. His private burial will be held at Mt. St. Peter's Cemetery in Derby.
Memorial contributions are requested to the American Kidney fund at kidneyfund.org/give.
