James "Jim" Ostrom

OSTROM, James "Jim" – of Birch Run, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
Jim was born April 26, 1956, in Saginaw, to the late Ernest and Hazel (Fox) Ostrom. He attended Birch Run Community Schools where he received his high school diploma with the class of 1975. Jim worked as a truck driver for over 40 years. On May 1, 1976, Jim married the love of his life, Brenda Kohlhoff. Together they shared 48 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children: Jeremy, Scott, and Rebecca. He was an avid member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Birch Run. Jim enjoyed country music, being outdoors camping with family, fishing – especially with his grandchildren, attending NASCAR races, and working on old cars. He was a member of The Mustang Club of Mid-Michigan. Jim was an easy-going, witty man who at times may have been gruff, but he truly had a heart of gold. Above all, Jim was loved by many and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Jim is forever remembered by his wife, Brenda Ostrom; Children: Jeremy (Julie), Scott (Erica), and Rebecca (Phil); Grandchildren: Andrew, Addison, Logan, Alyssa, Cody (Sophie), and Isaac; Brother, Lee Ostrom. Jim was preceded in death by his Parents, Ernest and Hazel; Brothers: Ernie and Bucky; Sister, Nancy; Beloved Stepmother, Earline Cassidy.
Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at Christ Lutheran Church, 8101 Poellet St., in Birch Run, MI on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 1PM until 6PM. Visitation will continue Monday, June 24, 2024, at the church from 9AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
