Brown's Cremation & Funeral ServiceJames D Owen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 8, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he spent his childhood surrounded by love and laughter alongside his parents Mary Elizabeth Owen and Thomas K Owen, and his siblings Tom, Rose, Sherron, Vivian, and Edward. James exemplified bravery and dedication when he joined the Marines in 1959, serving his country with honor until 1965. It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Janice, in 1963. Together, they raised two sons, Kevin and Jon, both of whom brought immense pride and joy to James. Kevin pursued a career in education while Jon dedicated himself to serving in the Army. After his military service, James embarked on a successful career in Computer Operating, working in various states including California, Colorado, and Laramie, Wyoming. Eventually, he found fulfillment as a Bus Driver for Grand Valley Transit in Grand Junction, Colorado. For 30 years, James called the Fruita, Colorado area his home, relishing in the beauty of the desert and forests that surrounded him. He had a passion for model trains since his youth, spending countless hours maintaining a track and town in his home. James was also a devoted dog lover, often spoiling his furry companions and taking them on hikes in McInnis Canyon. Known for his humor and kindhearted nature, James will be deeply missed by his wife Janice, son Jon, daughter Sharon, and granddaughter Tamra. He leaves behind his brother Edward, and sister Sherron Price, as well as a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him. May James D Owen rest in peace, his memory forever cherished in the hearts of those who were touched by his presence
