James Page Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Woodstock on Mar. 2, 2026.
James Albert Page (Jim), named after his two grandfathers, was born in Valdese, North Carolina on February 9, 1950. He was the first child of Charles Gates Page and Dorothy Loudermilk and had a younger sister, Frances, and a step-sister, Lisa. Jim served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as and Electronic Technician Specialist on C-130's and C-5's, which became his favorite airplanes. The Lord saved him at age 21 through the influence of the Air Force Chaplain. At that point Jim surrounded himself with good teaching and godly mentors.

He married Patricia Sue Hartman (Pat) in June of 1981 at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain from a blind date. They were blessed with 3 daughters and 1 son and raised their children in Canton, GA where they lived for 20 years. Suzanne (David) Banker, Lauren (Jordan) Lawrence, Anna Leigh (Taylor) and Charles (Becca) Page. Charles passed away suddenly in 2023 but was blessed with a grandson, Charles James (Charlie) in 2024.

Jim was a godly man with a quiet and kind spirit. His hero was Robert E Lee. He was a peaceful soul with a dry humor. He was able to fix anything from car repairs to home repairs. He was very detailed and focused on anything he did. He was thorough and thoughtful. Contemplative yet generous. He and Pat loved to take trips to the mountains, the beach and take trips to see their children and grandchildren. He loved hanging out with friends and family, but his passion was studying the Word of God which he did daily.

He served in leadership roles in several churches. He loved theology and taught classes, served as an elder in a former church and taught bible studies in nursing homes even after his strokes. He had such a love for his family and for others. He loved his children and his grandchildren and had a dry humor and funloving spirit. He was never angry or critical of anything or anyone. He was easy to please and his love language was definitely quality time.

He loved his wife dearly…always showing love and affection to her and their children. He was a tenderhearted soul and a peace maker. Jim lived out his faith in his life through his actions and his words. He was such an inspiration to many who knew him. His desire was to serve the Lord with all his heart and soul. He fought the good fight and persevered through a major car accident that almost took his life, prostate cancer, and suffered 9 ½ years from 3 strokes. His last years of life were spent in a wheelchair, unable to stand or walk, yet he accepted it as part of God's plan. His last prayer request to his wife was to persevere to the end.

He will always be remembered for his kindness, wisdom and teachable heart. He was truly a man of God who loved theology and truth. He will also be remembered for his love of cheeseburgers and vanilla milkshakes. I thank all of his family and friends who blessed him with hundreds of vanilla shakes over the years. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

"God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever"

Psalm 73:26

Earlier today

I am saddened by the announcement of the death of James(Jimmy) Page. He was a dear friend of mine growing up in Valdese, NC. He was so kind, caring and intelligent. He was truly one of the nicest guys I have ever known own. I have fond memories of him, especially high school at which time we had classes together and we worked on the yearbook together. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. Prayers for comfort. Renee Rostan
