James R. "Rusty" Parson, age 58, passed away far too soon on the evening of Saturday, September 27, 2025. A current resident of Trafalgar and a longtime former resident of Morgantown, Rusty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was born on August 5, 1967, in Martinsville, Indiana, to Donald R. and Mary M. (McKee) Parson Sr. Rusty attended Indian Creek High School and went on to work as a laborer for Fishers Construction Company in Trafalgar. He was a proud member of the Laborers' International Union of North America, Local 120 in Indianapolis.

Rusty had a down-to-earth spirit and found joy in life's simple pleasures-he loved playing the lottery and scratch-offs and, most of all, cherished time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Roller) Parson, whom he married on October 31, 2015, in Trafalgar. He is also survived by his father, Donald R. Parson Sr. of Martinsville; daughter, Jeana (Bridgett) MyKelti of Florida; stepson, Daniel Turpin of Morgantown; and brother, Donald R. (Laurie) Parson Jr. of Martinsville. Rusty was a proud grandfather to Isaac "Angel" Duran and step-grandchildren Cayla (Hunter) Fletcher, Cody (Rebecca) David, Alex Wilkerson, and Dylan James, along with great-grandchildren Lydia, Laney, Willow, and Maple.

He will also be lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews: Kyle (Logan) Parson, Caleb (Chelsey) Parson, Casey (Ashlee) Parson, Logan Maxwell, and Lindsey Dalton; his aunts, Jenny Perry and Judy (Steve) Crider; uncle, William McKee; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Rusty was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Marlene Parson; paternal grandparents, Donald and Louise Parson; maternal grandparents, William and Edell McKee; and several aunts and uncles: James, Louis, William, Richard, and John Parson; Barbara Bagley, Sue Ellis, Mary Lou Casey, Sharon Elkins, Patty Arnold, Joyce Kemp, Norma Baker, Betty Lucas, and Eva Rice.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, Morgantown.

In honor of Rusty's life, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Association, PO Box 299 West Orange, NJ 07052.
