James was born on September 20, 1970, and was a native of Buncombe County, later moving to Clyde, where he resided for several years, taking care of his uncle, Paul Linden Parton. Everyone who was blessed to know James will remember his great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and rafting – a man who was always happy spending time on the water. James had been employed in the construction industry, working as an instrument fitter, traveling all across the United States. He was indeed a man gifted and well respected at his profession.
His heart runneth over with kindness and goodness, and no one can ever take his place. We give thanks for the 55 years we had James in our lives, and we shall cherish his precious memory forever.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Edgar Parton, Sr., who passed away in 2024.
Surviving are his mother, Sheila Ann West Parton; his brother, Darrell Gregory Parton; his sister, Karen Parton Staley; nephews, James Gregory Lee Parton, wife Tiffany Virginia Parton, and Jacob Cheyenne Staley; great-nieces, Eve Isabella Catherine Cole and Lorelei Rosalee Jade Parton; great-nephew, Alexander James Anthony Parton; and a multitude of friends.
To honor the life of James, the Parton family welcomes friends and loved ones to visit the Parton home located at 1746 Newfound Road in Leicester, NC, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. This will be a day dedicated to sharing wonderful memories, visiting with his family, and celebrating his wonderful life. James would be pleased.
