James "Jim" P. Patchell Jr., 74 of Milford, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on May 4, 1950, in New Haven, CT to the late James Perry Patchell Sr. and Marion Holleran Patchell. Jim was the beloved husband of 43 years to Mary Ellen Patchell, the love of his life. Jim dedicated much of his career to hard work and precision, spending seven years in the frozen distribution center at American Frozen Food, ten years with Atlas Moving & Storage, and over 15 years as an expeditor and planner at Oriel Corp. before retiring. A proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, Jim continued his education at the University of New Haven, where he excelled as a football playerhis 64.5" stature certainly giving him an edge on the field. His love for the game remained strong throughout his life as he passionately cheered for his favorite team, the New York Giants. During high school, he was also a skilled marksman on the rifle team. Beyond work and sports, Jim had a deep love for bowling. A longtime member of the Milford Bowlerama teams, he formed many lasting friendships while achieving an incredible featbowling over eight perfect 300 games. His enthusiasm for the sport was unmatched. Jim also had a passion for cooking, always eager to try new recipes, much to his wifes delight when she got to enjoy his delicious creations. He cherished socializing with friends, sharing stories, and spending time at the Milford Elks Club. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness. In addition to his beloved wife, Mary Ellen, Jim is survived by his two children: son James P. Patchell III (wife Cara) and daughter Erin Marie Patchell, and his grandson Sawyer Patchell. As well as many additional beloved family and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his brother Gary John Patchell. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. Interment will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jims memory can be made to the Milford Elks Lodge 1589 by check to "Milford Elks #1589" and mailed to: 124 New Haven Avenue, Milford CT 06460.
