George Levesque Obituary

George P. Levesque, 81, passed away on February 12, 2026 at his home in Northfield, NH with his wife by his side. He was born on July 27, 1944 in Manchester NH. He was the eldest son of the late George and Pauline Levesque.

George is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 59 years, Gail. He is also survived by his two daughters, Kathleen Borrazzo and her husband Ed of South Burlington, VT; and Sandra Lund and her husband, Chris of Milford CT; and five grandchildren, Rebecca, Anna, and Emily Borrazzo and Kathryn and Zachary Lund. In addition, he is survived by his two sisters, Susan Hantman of Exeter, NH, and Jan Levesque of Hopkinton, NH; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

George lived most of his life in Derry; he grew up there, attending Pinkerton Academy, where he played football, basketball and baseball. In 1966, he married Gail and they raised their family in Derry. George liked to be busy, whether it was tinkering around the house, hosting parties (manning the grill was his speciality), or volunteering in the community. He was a past president of the Derry Lions Club. For over 10 years, he spent his summer and fall coaching football for the Londonderry Panthers. In the winter and spring, he coached his daughters and their friends in recreation basketball and softball.

George enjoyed being outside and active. He loved motorcycles, and continued to ride well into his 60s. During the winter, he liked to cross-country ski with family. In 1990, he and Gail moved to Northfield, NH because George wanted to live somewhere a bit more rural. He retired from Janco in Dover, NH in 2008.

George adored his grandchildren. He took delight in participating in their lives - playing with them when they were young, watching them in sports, plays, and concerts, and listening to all their stories. They know that Grandpa/Papa loved licorice, that he was willing to share his potato chips with them, and that he was a ruthless "Sorry!" opponent.

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Pauline, and his granddaughter Melissa Levesque Borrazzo.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 9:30am - 11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. The burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
