James W. Pegg, of Polk County, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, while hunting in Georgia.
James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy Pegg, with whom he shared over 37 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership.
A proud father, James is survived by his children Shawna Medley, James A. Pegg, Lauren Pegg, Brook Pegg, and Kirstyn Pegg. He was also a cherished grandfather to Jasmine, Little Lauren, Lindsey, Landon, Melina, Kaley, Audrey, Nevaeh, Brentley, Joslyn, Maleah, Harlan, Brook, Ari, and Zara (15 grandchildren who adored their “Papa” beyond measure).
He is the beloved son of Voncile Ferguson and Wayne F. Pegg, and is lovingly remembered by his sister, Diane Pegg, and his brother, Michael Pegg.
For over 40 years, James owned and operated Pegg’s Auto Upholstery, proudly serving Polk County and Central Florida. His dedication, craftsmanship, and kindness earned him the respect and trust of his community.
James was truly the heart and soul of his family. He found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved. His strength, humor, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
