James Radano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGuinness Funeral Homes - Sewell on Aug. 2, 2024.
James L. Radano of Sewell, NJ, passed away on July 29th, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born to the late James and Evelyn (nee Ewan) Radano on August 16th, 1937, in Camden, NJ. Jimmy attended Audubon High School as the graduating class of 1956. Many years after graduating high school, Jimmy met the love of his life, Nancy (nee Wetherill) Radano. The pair were brought together by family relatives that thought they would be perfect together, and they could not be any more correct. Jimmy's charisma and sense of humor won Nancy over, the two decided to join their families in marriage of 1980, spending a loving 44 years together. As a couple, Jimmy and Nancy loved to spend quality time with one another, go out dancing, specifically the Twist, as well as to places such as Hawaii, The Islands, Puerto Rico. Nancy's most cherished trip that her and Jim took was to Yellowstone National Park with their dear friends. Together, Jimmy and Nancy watched their beloved children become adults; Deborah (Thomas) Papperman, James (Debi) Radano, G. Scott Davis, Greg (Kathleen) Davis, and Leigh Ann (John) Melon. Jimmy loved having all of the kids around the house. He tried to get involved in every step of their lives, from sporting events to academic achievements, Jimmy was their biggest fan.
While Jimmy loved being a father, he flourished as "Pop" to twelve loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jimmy loved having the little ones around the house, their laughter filling up the home. Once Jimmy and Nancy retired, Jimmy made sure that they went to every event the grandchildren participated in. It was important to Jimmy to know that his grandchildren saw Pop in the stands cheering them on.
When Jimmy was not spending time with his family, he could be found golfing, watching his favorite Philadelphia sports teams, or his favorite Duke University college league. To say Jimmy simply loved sports would be an understatement. Every year since retirement, Jimmy would go to Florida for Spring Training and watch the teams train for the upcoming season. One of his most precious memories was attending March Madness with his best friend. Jimmy also volunteered at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township where his outgoing personality really shined. People naturally gravitated towards Jimmy, pulling him into conversations that felt like they were between old friends. His love for life was infectious.
Jimmy will be remembered fondly by all who loved him for his charismatic personality and kind heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's visitation on Friday, August 9th, 2024, from 10am - 12pm. A funeral ceremony will be held privately for the immediate family.
Interment private.

To Nancy and Family, so sorry for your loss. I remember when, for a short time, you used to live in the Historic schoolhouse down the street from Nannie and Poppie, in Upper Deerfield. I hope you find peace at this time. Be strong, Shelly
