Marie Eckert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Costantino-Primo Funeral Home on Feb. 3, 2026.
Marie C. Eckert (nee Chaika), age 79, of Gibbsboro, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born in Philadelphia, and raised in Audubon, where she graduated from Audubon High School. Marie spent many summers at her family's shore house in Wildwood Crest, where her love of the shore began! Marie is survived by her husband, Michael Sr., and their three loving children, Michelle, Jennifer (William Sr.) and Michael Jr. (Suzie). Devoted MomMom to her "3 G's"; William Jr., Thomas and Mitchell.

Marie began her career at Fiberglass, and then raised her children until they were in grade school, where she served in the PTA, and as a Girl Scout Cookie Chairwoman for several years. Marie rejoined the workforce and became a Credit Investigator for EQUIFAX, leading to a Credit Analyst at PHH Mortgage before she retired.

Marie was an active and lifetime member of the Square Circle Ladies Auxiliary, where she enjoyed hosting the children's holiday parties with her grandsons by her side.

Ever the crafty lady, Marie thoroughly enjoyed making flower arrangements, crocheting blankets - lap size to king size - for her family and our soldiers. Marie was an Eagles and Phillies Phan, including the one and only Phillie Phanatic! She enjoyed watching the games with her family. (Go Birds!) Marie also enjoyed ceramics and making homemade cookies - especially with her 3 G's.

Dear sister of the late William Chaika, Sr. and John Chaika. Marie (Auntie M) is also survived by her cherished nephews and niece; Bill, Jr., Paul, David, Sr., and Lisa, plus many great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00AM. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Gibbsboro.
