James “Randy” Chitty, aged 61, of Lake Park, passed away on August 13, 2025, at his home. Born on December 1, 1963, in Valdosta, he was the son of the late James Ray Chitty and Barbara Ann Smith Chitty.
Randy was a graduate of Echols County High School in the early 1980’s. Throughout his life, he embraced a variety of careers, his professional journey included time at Levi Strauss, Crackin Good Bakery, the Merchant Marines, and Tidewater Marine, where he worked as an oil rig worker. Beyond his work, Randy found joy in simple pleasures; he loved riding his bike and spending time at the beach.
He is survived by his family: sisters Ann Garner and Bobbie Spivey, both of Lake Park; sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Al Bennett of Melbourne Beach, Florida; and brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Lisa Chitty of Echols County. Randy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Randy will be cremated, and no public services are planned at this time. Friends and family who wish to share their condolences may do so online at www.mclanecares.com.
