Billie Faye Chitty

Billie Faye Chitty's story began on October 1, 1935, in
South Pittsburg, Tennessee, where she was born to Chris and Vella Mae Patton. From an early age, Billie carried with her a strong spirit, a quick smile, and a love for family and faith that would guide her throughout her life. She grew up in South Pittsburg and attended McReynolds High School, where she built friendship and values that stayed with her always.
In 1951, She married her sweetheart, John Arthur Chitty, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and resilience. They raised four children, Johnnie Tyron Chitty (deceased), Reata Faye Chitty-Mitchell, Shona Renee Chitty- Harris, and John Arthur Chitty- teaching them the importance of faith and perseverance.
Billie was deeply rooted in her church family at Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she found joy in worship and fellowship. She was proud to be the church's oldest living member, a testament to a life live with faith at its center.
She is lovingly survived by her brothers, Rupert Jerome Patton and William Don Patton, who cherished her as a sister and friend throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie Tyron Chitty and her loving husband John Arthur Chitty; sisters, Brenda Patton Jackson; sister, Betty Patton Jackson, Martha Gayle Patton Reynolds, Judy Patton Moore; brother, Christopher Allen Drake Patton.
Billie Faye leaves to cherish her memory, children; Reata Faye Chitty Mitchell, Shona Renee Chitty Harris, and John Arthur Chitty; grandchildren,

(two sons) Robert Mitchell, Jr., Gordon Maurice Mitchell; two daughters, Cicely Monique Scott-Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (CDT) at Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church, 103 N Holly Ave,
South Pittsburg, Tennessee with Pastor Lamar Jenkins and Elder Jackson officiating.
Mrs. Billie Faye will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, John Arthur Chitty at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. (CDT) 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, Tennessee
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home and again on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) (CDT) prior to the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (CDT) at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jarvis Wooten, Rupert Jerome Patton, Evan Desmond Bowen, Henry DeJuan Bowen II, Tom Jackson, and Malantis Moore.
