He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Frankie D Mullinax Ratcliff; sisters, Dorothy Rackley, Lena Ruth Green, Mildred Cagle, Linda Henderson; brother, Eugene Ratcliff; son, Kevin Ownby.
JR was retired from Ratcliff Construction of Dalton, Georgia.
He is survived by wife of 36 years, Mary Dockery Ratcliff, his children, Daniel and Sharon Ratcliff, Neil Ratcliff, Garrick Ratcliff; Jennifer Cloer, Sherry and Billy Crowe and Richie Hall. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday July 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
