James Rateau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rochette Funeral Home & Cremation Services on May 19, 2025.
James "Jim" M. Rateau, 56, of Nashua, passed away on May 14,
2025. Born in Pomona, California, on March 18, 1969, he was the beloved son of Jacques Claude Rateau and Sonia Lee Gilmore.
Jim worked hard all his life most recently in construction. He loved his family, especially, his son Jacob who he was very proud of. He loved to cook for his family any chance he got and brought joy to others through food, especially his famous homemade pizza.
Jim is survived by his mother, Sonia Gilmore, of Nashua; his son, Jacob Rateau, and Jacob's girlfriend, Callie Meisel, both of St. Johnsbury, VT; as well as Jacob's mother and Jim's former spouse, Mary Rateau, also of St. Johnsbury. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Heidi Kumm of Nashua; Derek Gilmore and his husband, Jeffrey, of Nashua; Monica Zuk of Monroe, NH; and Griffin Zuk of North Cumberland, NH. Uncle Jungle Jim leaves behind nephew Clifford Chapman of Andalusia AL, nieces Krystie Groth of Nashua NH and Brianna Alves of Wilmington MA. Along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Jacques Claude Rateau.
There will be no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to the American Stroke Association
