Mr. James Reed, Jr. of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, 8718 N. 46th Street, Tampa, FL 33617, with Reverend Dr. Earl Mason, Sr., Officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

Mr. Reed was a native of Pelham, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa for 68 years. He attended schools in the Mitchell County school system and was a member of Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace. He was employed as a truck driver and retired from Florida Rock approximately 30 years ago. He spent the last years of his life serving his community and supporting family members in their endeavors.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His children and their spouses, Levetta (Alton) Jefferson, James (Beverly) Reed, Michael (Paulette) Reed, Lorenzo (Stephanie) Reed, Cametra Edwards, and Lawanda Love (daughter in love); his brother, Eddie Reid, Sr.; his grandchildren, Tenisha (Archie) Haggins, Michael Reed II, Tyandre (Candace) Reed, Laarian Reed, Moses Jefferson, Ajani Edwards, Eden Edwards, Saniyah Reed, and Lorenzo Reed; his grandchildren in love, Maletha Love, Milton Green, Jeremy Green, and Zuri Moultrie; his great-grandchildren, Zhayil Haggins, Camrun Slayton, and Violet Reed; his great-grandchildren in love, Mikayla Jefferson, Deacon Jefferson, Samora Green, Jeremy Green, Milk'hale Green, My'Liyah Green, Ma'Lani Green, Jayla Love, Malik Love, and Yanis Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved family friends.

Also cherishing his memory are: his sister-in-law, Peggy (McClendon) Johns, and brother-in-law, Ronnie McClendon, whom he lovingly helped raise after the death of their mother, and who held him in deep affection as a father figure.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
