James "JimBob" Reed

James "JimBob" Reed, 61, of Oberlin, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and close friends, after a bout with brain cancer.

He was born on November 18, 1964, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to William "Bill" and Kennethea (Ness) Reed.

James graduated from Fredricktown High School in 1984. He was involved in all aspects of the family business for 26 years at Fred Lewis Septic. James was a member of Central Ohio Draft Horse Assoc., and a lifetime member of the Percheron Horse Assoc. of America. In his spare time, he enjoyed showing draft horses, going to fairs, plowing with his horses and time spent with his family.

JimBob is survived by his wife, Linda (Lewis) Reed. He is also survived by his daughters, Enchantress (Derek) Brasee, Megan (Joe) Liba, son; Derrick (Brittany) Reed, grandchildren; Trenton, Alexis, Joleah, Grace, McKenzie, Harper, Isabella, Wyatt, sister; Ruth Ann Kearns, brothers; Joe (Sally) Reed, Marty Reed; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandson; Colton Reed and sister-in-law; Donna Reed.

Friends may call on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fair Hall, Lorain County Fairgrounds, 23000 Fairgrounds Rd., Wellington. Additional visitation will be available at the fairgrounds on Tuesday March 17, 2026 from 9:30 until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am with Jeff Hopkins and Matt Abfall presiding. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery.

The family is requesting that everyone bring their favorite picture of JimBob to visitation for a memory board, with their name and address on the back.
