James Russell Reeder, 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born September 26, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Clifton "Pappy" and Margret Nora (Blevins) Reeder.
James was a Veteran and proudly served in the US Air Force at Kimpo Air Force Base during the Korean War. He met his sweetheart Margie while on leave in Cleveland Ohio. After serving our great nation, James worked in the steel industry and finally as a heavy truck/equipment mechanic before retiring.
James (Jim) enjoyed spending time with family, camping, fishing and just spending time in the outdoors. He was a devout Christian and had been attending the Midview Baptist Church with his late wife Margie Pauline Reeder in Columbia Station, Ohio.
James is now reunited with his late wife of more than 70 years, Margie Pauline Reeder, who preceded him in death in 2023. His memory will be cherished by his children, James R. (Dawn) Reeder Jr. and Susan Reeder; his grandchildren, Rachel (Dave) Fishman, Anthony Zaruba, Amanda Armour and Jessica (Brian) Ignatowski; his great-grandchildren, Dawson Fishman, Jameson Fishman, Weston Fishman, Liam Armour, Lily Armour, Lianna Armour, Gage Ignatowski, and Asher Ignatowkski; and his siblings, John Reeder, Yvonne Ranaldi, Glenevier (Glenn) Dubulis, Bertie (Bert) Barcus, Wava Russell, and Margie Galjan. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Warren Reeder, Bill Reeder, Lorretta Barber, and Robert Reeder.
The family will welcome friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 23rd.
