James Reeves Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory on Jan. 7, 2026.
James (Jim, Indian) Fricks Reeves, 74, of Trenton, GA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Linda; children Kari (Wayne) Pace and Paul Peterson; grandchildren Erik Pace and Matthew (Gavin) Smith; 4 great-grandchildren Evie, Ross, Danny and John.

He is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Gail) Reeves. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland Eugene and Betty Wooten Reeves, two brothers, Wayland and Bobby Reeves, and sister, Sharon Moore.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Dade County, and was the owner of Wilson Music in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was an artist, displaying scenes of castles in faraway mountains at the New Salem Art Show for several years. But his first love was music. He credited his brother-in-law, Gary Moore, for starting him on his career as a musician. He played songs that everyone was familiar with but was a songwriter as well.

No matter what music Jim played, rock'n'roll, country, blues or jazz, he made lifelong friends that respected and admired him for his talent. Jim will be missed.

Pallbearers are Paul Peterson, Wayne Pace, Erik Pace, Matthew Smith, Gavin Smith, and Bobby Kennedy.
