Roy Junior Atchley

Roy Junior Atchley, 83, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

He was employed by Sherman-Reilly in Chattanooga but his most proud moments were on-the-road trucking as a driver. Roy was a member of New Vision Church of God, loved fishing, being outdoors, and tinkering on vehicles, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Atchley, son, Roy Timothy "Tim" Atchley, granddaughter, Amy Michelle Atchley, parents, Ruford & Fannie Mae Atchley, and ten siblings.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Terry (Deb) Atchley, Trent Atchley, & Melissa "Missy" Atchley, all of Trenton, GA; grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Atchley, Cody Atchley, Zeke (Kaytlin) Atchley, Ethan Atchley, Heidi (Nick) Wilson, Austin (Halie) Campbell, Justin (Megan) Shavers, & Cali Land; great-grandchildren, Addi Wilson, Natalie Campbell, Reed Campbell, Derek Shavers, & Grey Shavers; brother, Harold Atchley; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Michael Kilgore officiating. Roy will be laid to rest in Gibdock-Stephens Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
