James A. Remark, 81, of Massillon, passed away on May 5, 2025 at Altercare of Navarre, following an extended illness.
He was born on February 19, 1944 to the late Clarence and Jean (Youngblood) Remark in Akron, OH.
A 1962 graduate of Northwest High School, he attended the University of Toledo. Jim retired from Lakeside Supply in 2015. He was dedicated to his family. Jim enjoyed traveling to his grandchildren's sporting events, never missing a game. He was a big sports fan, following The Massillon Tigers and Cleveland sports. He was an avid golfer, and loved fishing.
James is survived by his loving children, Holly (Mike) Schafer, Wendy Lunsford, and James Remark II; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nancy (James) Abbott, Tom (Debbie) Remark, Carla (Steve) Tomassetti, Debbie Nettle, Sheryl (Harry) Vernon, Sandy (JC) Schwendiman, Larry (Tina) Remark, Julie (Randy) Alexander, and Marilea Ford; an aunt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Lyons.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2025,from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a memorial service to start at 7:00pm with Pastor Mark Hirst, of Living Water Dalton officiating.
Inurnment will be in Union Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Absolute Hospice or The Kidney Foundation of Ohio and The American Diabetes Association.
