Just learned of Bob's passing this morning. Bob was a sales rep for my company in Kingsford, MI. My business was Smith Castings and Bob brought much work to us. I met with Bob 4 or more times from 1996 to 2015 and many many phone conversations.. He was a very pleasant man to work with and I often have thought of him since my retirement in 2015. I know he will be missed by many friends and family. Godspeed Bob and sad farewell. Eric Frantz

Bobby was on the same little league team with me in canal fulton. He was 3rd base and left field and I was the catcher. Sometimes when the other team had men on first and third they would send the runner from first and if you tried to get him they would send the runner from 3rd to score. We had a play where I would jump up and cock my arm towards 2nd and then rifle a throw to bobby who was behind the runner at 3rd. He would put the tag on the surprised runner. That play worked for us 3 or 4 different times aqainst different opponents. Bobby was a good player and also pitched sometimes. I can remember some of the guys on that team. Ralph Chenevy, Billy Lerch, Denny Staver, Johnny Cullen, John & Scott Healy, Matt & JC Swendeman, Ernie Hartong and his Dad was the coach. Although we didn' t win many games ( 8 or 9 out of 20) each of the 2 years I played, we really had a good time. We played teams from Brewster, Moffat Heights, Richville and Wilmont.
Another memory was when Bobby's Dad, Ray (our grocer) took us to an Indians game. But they never started the game. We sat there for 2 and a half hours and then they called it a rain out. Bobby also went to SPJ grade school with me. He was in my sister Peggy's class.

I was so sorry to hear of your Father's passing, Chris. Thank you for your call. We enjoyed about a 40 plus year friendship, going back to his days at Akron Standard and Atlantic Foundry, and mine at General Tire. Your Dad was one of the finest men I have ever known. Blessings to you and your family.
