James Robert “Bobby” Richards passed away unexpectedly January 6, 2026, at 44 years of age. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 24, 1981, to David D. and Alice J. (Baker) Richards. He was a 2000 graduate of Decatur Central High School. Bobby worked as a Maintenance Technician for Rolls Royce. He was described as very creative, artistic, from childhood, having a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful smile and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family. He also enjoyed playing Board Games with his friends, gaming with his nephews, and taking an occasional trip to the casino, and cooking. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all. Bobby is survived by his parents, Dave and Alice, his brothers, Jason (Lora) Richards, Jeffrey Richards, his niece, Elexis Richards, his nephew, Blake Richards, and his great niece, Hallo Braun. He is preceded in death by his brother, Kyle Richards, and his grandparents, Mattie and James Richards and Bobby and Sylvia Baker. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2:00pm-6:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the Funeral Service there on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00am. Wes Gainey, his uncle will preside over his service. Bobby will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
