James “Ricky” Ralph Leggette, Jr. passed away April 19, 2024. He was 65 years old. Ricky was born in Louisiana to the late James Leggette, Sr. and Hazel Brumley Leggette. He was a member of Jackson First Assembly of God in Jackson, MS. Ricky was an owner of Jackson Tool and Engineering where he served his community as a machinist for 31 years. He was a former Hinds County Reserve Deputy for over two decades and a member of Mounted Patrol. Ricky was a cattle farmer and member of MS Cattlemen’s Association. His kind heart and compassion were expressed through his love for his cattle, his horses and most of all, his unwavering love for Jesus Christ and his family. Ricky’s love for his grandchildren was unparalleled. They were the greatest joy in his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and brother who will be forever remembered.
Ricky is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Pam Leggette; his son, Jay Leggette (Jessica); daughter, Tiffany Williams (Bryan); grandchildren, Hunter Leggette, Mason Williams, Adelyn Leggette and Riley Williams; sisters, Linda Phillips (Mike), Judy Wheatley (Lee), Vicky Brooks, Gail Wade (Rick) and Brittany Martin (Yancey) along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Funeral Service and Visitation for Ricky Leggette, will be held at Jackson First Assembly of God, starting on Monday, April 22, 2024,the family will receive the public beginning at 5 PM until 7 PM. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 a visitation will begin at 9 AM until the service begins at 10 AM. Burial will be immediately following at Raymond City Cemetery.
The family has requested for any expressions to be made to the following designated organization: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinds County 4-H. Hinds County Extension Office c/o Lurlinda Soignier, P.O. Box 1207, Raymond, MS 39154.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Hunter Leggette, Mason Williams, Keith Burnett, Jr. “KJ”, Josh Dennington, Jimbo Jordan, Vince Watts, Wes Brunson and Wayne Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Butch Pennock, Scott Newton, Gerald Duran, Richard Berry and Jody Pennock.
