James Edward Robertson

James Edward Robertson, "Robbie", was born on July 29, 1951, in Danville, Virginia and departed this life on Friday, September 19, 2025, after a long courageous battle of stage 4 lung cancer.

James enlisted in the USAF and dedicated 24 years. James received numerous honors throughout his distinguished career, where he proudly served as a Master sergeant in supply and a Boom Operator. Following his military career, he spent many years with J.R. Woods before joining Merced College as a groundskeeper for 15 years until his retirement in 2020.

He found happiness in fishing, cooking on the grill, especially Friday steak nights, taking on projects around the home, taking pride in his Volkswagen "the bug", and spending time with family and friends. Many knew Robbie for his contagious smile, joyful laughter, his big heart and the way he was always willing to lend a hand.

James is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughters Monica, Amanda & Michelle; along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his sister Juanita (Wilbur) and a large extended family who loved and cherished him dearly.

James is preceded in death by his loving parents' mother & father, Beatrice & James W. Robertson; his brother, Herman Robertson; sister-in-law, Shirley Robertson and his nephews Michael & Frankie Lynn Robertson; and his lifelong best friend, Watson Jenkins.

Though he will be deeply missed, James' spirit, love, and kindness will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family warmly invites all who knew him to attend services and burial.

Viewing and Funeral services will be held at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel in Atwater, CA on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The viewing will begin at 10 am, with the funeral service to follow.

A military burial with honors will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1030 am at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella- 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, CA 95322, USA.
