James Rose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center on Nov. 10, 2023.
James Douglas Rose, 48, of Martinsville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 6, 2023, at 7:19 PM at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Though his time on earth was short, his legacy will live through his selfless act of giving the gift of life as an organ donor.

He worked for Gray Brothers Cafeteria in Mooresville as a cook. James was formally active within the Manna Mission. He enjoyed all things outdoors, as he was an avid outdoorsman, such as mushroom hunting, fishing, and simply walking through the woods.
James leaves behind a loving host of family and friends including his parents, Douglas Rose of Norman, Indiana and Lisa (Hendrickson) Sichting of Martinsville; companion, Kimberly Southern of Mooresville; sons, Jayden Rose and Alvie Grubb of Mooresville; daughters, Sady Rose (Jacob) of Martinsville, Haylee Grubb of Martinsville, and Alex Southern of Florida; brothers, Jack Rose (Sydney) of Martinsville, Joshua Rose of Bloomington, and Jerimiah Rose of Norman, Indiana; sisters, Jessica Rose of Martinsville and Amber Farace (John) of Norman, Indiana; and four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Joesph Rose, and niece, Jaylen Rose.

Jimmy was always my older brother too. He loved his little sister Jes and myself like I was family from day one. I´ll never forget the first time he saw me after I purchased our niece Jaylen´s headstone-he gave me the biggest hug and said thank you so much Aunt B. He will be dearly missed by many. -Bri
