James F. Ruehrup, age 75, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at his residence. Jim was born on October 17, 1949, in Granite City, IL, the son of the late Frederick W. & Helen F. (Fickert) Ruehrup. Jim is survived by his sister, Judith Ozier & husband Dennis, of Sullivan, IL; four nieces & nephews, Don Ozier & wife Kris, of Indianapolis, IN, Deb Ozier, of Alton, IL, Dave Ozier & wife Willie, of Bloomington, IL and Denise Farley & husband Darren, of Rochester, IL; and several great nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a great nephew, Nathan Balding. Jim was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War where he earned a bronze star. Jim worked at Shell Oil as a pipe fitter and retired after over forty years of service there. Jim was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing especially Rend Lake. He was also a member of Eden Church in Edwardsville. A visitation will be from 10 am until 11 am Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. A funeral service will follow at 11 am also at the church with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Fallen Outdoors. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.

James and I talked for hours at church he was a great man. He joined our small group at church and attended one time. I will dearly miss him. May he rest in peace. I know God received him with open arms.
