James Kenneth "Jim" Ruff, age 58 of West Chicago, IL, passed away on April 12, 2025. Beloved husband of Amy J. Ruff; loving and proud father of Emmy (Jonathan Harding) Ruff and Jori Ruff; dear brother of Christopher (Kitty) Ruff; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Amy, and parents, Kenneth and Eileen Ruff.
Sergeant Jim retired from the DuPage County Sheriff's Department. He was the Commander of the Hazardous Device Unit (Bomb Team), which he was very proud of. He was also an avid White Sox fan. Jim enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. He also enjoyed photography, especially of nature. Jim was also a dog-dad to many beloved dogs through the years.
A Memorial Visitation for Jim will be held at DuPage Funeral Chapel (951 W. Washington Street, West Chicago) on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ruff family.
