Mr. James Dariel Russell, age 78, of Ronda, passed away Friday evening, September 12, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
Mr. Russell was born on December 21, 1946, in Wilkes County to John Avery and Mary Belle Teague Russell. He was the owner and operator of Russell Plumbing, where he took great pride in his work. He also found great joy in helping others and spending time at the beach.
Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Russell.
Survivors include: his wife, Glenda “Joanie” Swaim Russell, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dariel and Lynn Russell, of Jonesville, Michael and Rene Russell, of Jonesville, and Timothy Russell, of Ronda; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and David Greene, of Ronda, and Mary Ann and Todd Pardue, of State Road; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Russell, of Ronda; sister, Margaret Wood, of Elkin; grandchildren, Lindsey and Eric Blackburn, Preston and Amy Russell, Kylie Russell, Keli Russell, Madison Russell, Destini Russell, Jamie Russell, Seth Crouse, Cooper Crouse, Tashina Parks, Rachel Pardue, William Pardue, Tanner Pardue, and Zach and Addi Greene; great-grandchildren, Chloe Blackburn, Darcie Blackburn, Payton Greene, Mason Greene, Hayden Gaines, Bentlee Reynolds, Ryleigh Reynolds, and Cortlan Peppers.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 3:30 pm at Marler Road Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one and a half hours prior to the service from 2:00-3:30 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Marler Road Baptist Church, 4433 Collins Rd. Hamptonville, NC 27020.
