Ronnie James Walker, age 70, of Glade Valley, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at his residence.
Ronnie was born August 29th, 1955, in Surry County to the late James Monroe and Allie Woodle Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in law, Wanda Robbins; a niece, Lynn Robbins. Ronnie was a faithful member of Mountain Top Baptist Church in Glade Valley and a 1973 graduate of Elkin High School; he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Laura Robbins Walker of the home; two sons: Ryan Walker of the home, Dr. Adam Walker and wife Jessica of State Road; three grandchildren: Colton, Miles, and Hudson Walker all of State Road; a sister, Judy Eldrige and husband Henry of State Road; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law: Wayne Robbins and Hamptonville, Billy Robbins and wife Belinda of Hamptonville, Gary Robbins and wife Brenda of Elkin; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Memorial services to honor the life of Ronnie will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 at Mountain Top Baptist Church with Pastor Granville Branch officiating. The Eulogy will be presented by his son, Dr. Adam Walker. Inurnment in the church cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
