Funeral services for Mr. James Dudley Rutherford, Jr. will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Hineston, with Reverends Anthony Eaves and Tim Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hineston, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Rutherford, 71, of Belton, Texas, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Temple, Texas.
James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a proud U. S. Army Veteran. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Willie Mae Rutherford; and one son, James Auston Rutherford.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-eight and half years, Patricia Rutherford of Belton, Texas; one daughter, Heather Apostolov, and husband Vas, of Temple, Texas; two brothers, Gene Rutherford and wife Darla, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Ray Rutherford of Woodward, Oklahoma; one sister, Kay Smith of Pitkin; and two grandchildren, Christopher James Apostolov and Madeleine Grace Apostolov.
A time of visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Hineston, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jason Pace, Chris Pace, Lance Pace, Joseph Johnson, Ethen Johnson, and Matt Rutherford.
