James L. Samson

James L. Samson, age 85, of Cambridge Springs, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was born in Conneaut, OH on November 10, 1938, son of the late, Joseph and Camilla Kuhn Samson.

Jim graduated in 1956 from Lawrence Park High School, where he played football. He served four years in the US Navy as a Machinist's Mate Second Class. He married the love of his life, Karen, on May 14, 1960 and spent 63 wonderful years together. Jim retired from International Paper after working 47 years as a maintenance machinist. He enjoyed camping at Kinzua with his family, boating, deer hunting with his sons, jogging, and biking around the peninsula in his later years. Jim was involved with Little League and Cub Scouts in Wesleyville. He was also active in the food bank in Cambridge Springs and many church events at St. Anthony Church.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Frank Samson; and his sister, Rita Miller. He is survived by his wife, Karen Dale Samson; daughter, Pamela Spaeder (Terry); sons, James Jr. (Debbie) and Andrew (Lisa Pelkowski); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bob" Samson (Carol); and his dog, Jake.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday from 3 pm until 6 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at 10:30 am at St. James R.C. Church. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
