James Terry "JT Skabo II, 41, of Johnston City, formerly of Paducah, KY, passed away at 7:08 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

James was born on May 13, 1984, in Paducah, Kentucky to James Terry Skabo I and Christy Dean Hayden. He was united in marriage to Jerome Richard Skabo on August 3, 2020, at the Williamson County Court House. Together they shared 5 years of marriage.

James was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He was currently employed at Aisin Manufacturing where he recently, along with his team of co-workers, won an award.

James was an avid gamer and loved listening to music. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his fur baby, Molly Mae "Memers."

He is survived by his husband, Jerome Richard Skabo of Johnston City; adopted son, Glenn (Breanna) Marks III of Zeigler; granddaughter, Mazie "Sugar Bear" Marks of Zeigler; sister, Brittany (Nik Hedrick) Skabo of Jensen Beach, Fl; half-sister, Jennifer Ellis of Louisville, KY; mother-in-law, Robin D. Fox of Herrin; grandmother-in-law, Janet R. Fox of Grantsburg; sisters-in-law, Dee (Dawson) Fox-Ming of Herrin and Emily (Leslie Hunter) Rendleman of Ardmore, OK, Shelia "Chico" Norris of Marion; brother-in-law, Armondo James Fox of Herrin and Greg and Darryl Greenrod of Marion; nephews, Sylvester Luca, Sterling Lee; niece, Layla Rayanne. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, William and Mildred Hayden Jr.; paternal grandparents, John and Helen Skabo.

A celebration of James' life will be held at the Skabo residence on May 16, 2026. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember the life he lived, as the date falls close to his birthday.
