Sheila Kay Wece, 79, of Carbondale, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

Sheila was born on September 5, 1946, in Thompsonville, Illinois to the late Marion Douglas and Gladys Mae (Doering) Parks.

Sheila graduated from Thompsonville High School. After graduating, Shelia was a homemaker and later worked as a manager at two local Dairy Queens before retiring. In her free time, Sheila found joy in participating in Bingo. She also enjoyed cat fishing, and she loved singing and dancing, which brought happiness to both her and those around her.

She is survived by her three children, Shena (Shawn) Tucker of West Frankfort, Wade (Karin) Wece of Murphysboro, Weylin (Megan) Wece of Murphysboro; five grandchildren, Terra (Charlton) Bryan, Jennifer (Chris) Kays, Stephanie Tucker, Tedrah "Penelope" Wece, Riley Summers, Keylin Wece, and Hanna Wece; one great-grandchild, Skylar Bryan; twin brother, Billy (Phyllis) Parks of Thompsonville and brother Jess (Goldie) Parks of Fairfield; one sister, Dora Mae McCormick of Joliet, IL; best friend, Pat Shimkus of West Frankfort. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sheila is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Doris Ellis, Mary Francis Pearce, and Robert Parks.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor David Nolen officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
