Patrick Boyt Obituary
Patrick was born on August 13, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois to Deanna June Labotte. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Eileen Clare Lee, on October 19, 1979, in Marion. Together they shared 46 years of marriage.
Patrick was a 1978 graduate of Marion High School. Following graduation, he began a long career at Maytag in Herrin. After the factory closed, Patrick attended John A. Logan College and earned his associate degree in Industrial Maintenance. He later went on to work at Aisin in Marion. Ultimately, Patrick discovered his calling as an In-School Suspension Supervisor for the Benton School District. It was a career he thoroughly enjoyed, and his students meant a lot to him.
Patrick was an outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time outside under the stars, enjoying a bonfire with his family, and maintaining his property. He also enjoyed restoring cars and riding his motorcycle.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Eileen Boyt of Marion; three sons, Patrick Daniel Boyt of Marion, Lucas Boyt of Marion, and Garrett (Tanisha) Boyt of Johnston City; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Boyt and Chloe Boyt, both of Johnston City; two brothers, Greg (Jackie) Boyt and Alan Boyt; three step-brothers, Mark (Marsha) Boyt, David Boyt, and Chris (Yolanda) Boyt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and students.
He is preceded in death by his mother and one step-sister, Thala Chestosky.
A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr.Pat was an awesome man..in 7th grade he definitely made detention/in school worth it.. I miss when he was the lunch monitor always cracking jokes with us I'll definitely miss him he was an awesome teacher

Mr.Pat was such an amazing person. He helped me through my 8th grade year when I was going through a lot it got so bad I literally had a class with him everyday but no matter what he never gave up on me and truly if it wasn´t for him I wouldn´t have passed 8th grade and I wouldn´t be who I am today.

Mr.pat was one of my favorite teachers even tho I only seen him when I was in trouble he laughed one time when I had gotten a detention for stomping on a milk carton it was a dare but I got in trouble because it was very loud and he said well that's not the worst reason to be in trouble.

I was so shocked to learn of Pat's passing. I worked around him at Maytag. He was always very nice. My deepest sympathy to Eileen and the rest of the family. Pat was well liked and will be missed by many he came in contact with.

I worked with Pat at the school when I was substitute teaching. We often talked about lots of things and I enjoyed every minute of it. Beyond the school, Pat drove up on a Saturday to help me with a washing machine that had a broken pipe. I'll never forget his kindness and friendship.
