James R. Schnieders

James R. "Cricket" Schnieders, 79, of St. Henry, passed away at his home on March 25th. James was born August 6, 1945 in Ferdinand to Arvin and Rose (Wagner) Schnieders. James married Jane Meyer on August 19, 1970 in St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Jane preceded him in death on January 1, 2024.
Cricket was a lifelong member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He retired from Masterbrand Cabinets in Ferdinand after 40 years. He served in the Indiana National Guard during the Viet-Nam War. Cricket was also a member of the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He enjoyed his retirement and staying home with his dogs.
Surviving are one son, Jason Schnieders of Lanesville. One brother Daniel "Chester" Schnieders of Ferdinand, and one sister, Kathy (Bill) Little of Statesville, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marilyn Schnieders, and a brother, David "Beaver" Schnieders.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday March 28th at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until the service time. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
