James (Jim) Schoeberl of Alexandria, died on Tuesday May 6, 2025 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Jim was born on March 20, 1941 in Montrose, South Dakota, the son of Ben and Zella (Stephens) Schoeberl. Jim's family moved to a farm near Rush City MN when he was 6 months old and he graduated Rush City High School in 1959. He attended St. John's University after high school for 2 years and after working for a few years, returned to the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated in 1966.
Jim married Marian Bible on September 14, 1963 in Pine City MN. They moved to Maple Lake in Alexandria in 1990. He worked for 3M for 28 years and retired in 1996 from the 3M Alexandria factory. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards and attending his grandkids events. After retiring he worked with a variety of community organizations including Let's Go Fishing With Seniors, Harvest Pack, Habitat for Humanity, Knights of Columbus and the Forada Lion's Club.
Jim is survived by Marian, his wife of 61 years, 4 sons, Brian (Lisa), Tom (Kathy), Lance (Colleen) and Jeff (Kaylene), 10 grandkids and 4 great grand children.
Visitation will be at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria on Sunday, May 11 from 4pm to 7pm, with a prayer service at 4pm. There will be a second visitation from 10am-11am on Monday, May 12th at St. Mary's Church, with Mass at 11am. Jim will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery.
