James was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his companion, Paula Guess, of Hartford, Arkansas; his daughter, Jamie Knight (Chad) of Edmond, Oklahoma; his three grandchildren; Raidyn, Finnley, and Dash; one brother, Johnny Shackelford of Hartford, Arkansas; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sharlet Shackelford.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Hartford Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral & Cremation – Mansfield.

I am saddened to see that Jim has passed. I have many fond memories growing up with Jim and Johnny Ray. Leonard and Sharlet always treated me like family. All of us boys grew up playing, fighting, exploring life in a small town. Memories that I will always treasure. The best memory of Jim that I have is that he was always kind to my Brother Jimmy. Rest In Peace, Brother.

I remember Jim with that big old grin; y'all picked a great picture of him. Always had a sarcastic comment. But that was Jim. Knew him all my life, grew up with him, and very sad to hear about his passing. Jim was part of Hartford. I remember that old yellow Chevy pickup he had in high school. What was it? About a '54?
