Jimmy attended Buckeye Valley High School until his senior year, and then graduated from Delaware Hayes High School, Class of 1968. Jimmy was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force as a NORS controller stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California and served in Okinawa.

Jimmy owned and operated a lawn care company, "Lots of Lawns" and then retired from apartment management in Chico, California in April of 2020. Jimmy enjoyed working in the yard and coming up with his own creations in the garage. He also liked listening to Christian and Country Music. In his younger years, he loved taking care of his own horse and horseback riding.
Jimmy loved his family. He was a proud father and would tell many mischievous and cute stories of when his sons were growing up. Jimmy also had an ornery side to him. He would tell "A Zany Story" as he referred to them, just to make everyone laugh.
Fate and the Lord brought Jimmy and his sweetheart, Connie together during the Covid shutdown on April 2, 2020. They were inseparable and shared many special moments. Jimmy's smile and blue eyes could brighten any room. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all.
