James P. “Jimmy” Shannon, of Braintree, died peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was 70.

James was born in Syracuse, New York on May 26, 1954, and was the son of the late Charles John and Dorothy May (Kelley) Shannon. He was raised in New Jersey, and Pembroke, Massachusetts, attended local schools, and graduated from Silver Lake High School in Kingston. He was the devoted father of Lauren Shannon and her partner Earnest Covington of Brockton, Patrick Shannon and his wife Jennifer of Hopkinton, and Colin Shannon and his fiancée Isidora Varela Alessandri of Weymouth. James was the loving grandfather of Liam Shannon of Hopkinton.
