I remember Jim Shear fondly as my director of the musical theater production "Two by Two" in Binghamton back in 1979. Although I only knew Jim briefly, he was one of the most delightful people I´ve ever worked with. Rest in peace, Jim...and thank you.

I enjoyed working at CF with Jim very much! Jim was very entertaining you always knew when he was around. He added a lot of EXCITEMENT to our department, never a dull moment with Jim. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I had many teachers, coaches and instructors at CF. Jim Shear was in the handful who were special, who taught me more than I realized, until I was older. Now I hold them all in the highest esteem. Jim was a set design genius. He was a great teacher and friend. My life is richer because I had him as a teacher and director. RIP Jim.

Jim, "the Boss" was my life long friend. He was one of the best human beings I know. His biology class and his humor were so memorable. He hooked me on Upstagers and guided me through 6 different productions and ultimately to awards I never fathomed. He will be missed for the rest of my days on this earth. Thank You, Boss, You were the best! God Bless You

Jim Shear was my high school Biology teacher, he was a great teacher. Jim, as the Upstagers´ Artistic Director, gave me the confidence to act, sing and dance and instilled in me a deep love of the theater. I went on to devote much of my life to studying and working in the performing arts. Jim was a brilliant stage craftsman, director and collaborator. His sense of humor was boundless. With deep gratitude I offer sincere condolences to his family.
