James A. 'Jim' Sheppard

James A. ‘Jim’ Sheppard, 78, of Abbeville, husband of Terri Cann Sheppard, died Friday, April 4, 2025 at his home. He was born in Columbia, SC to the late George Lester Sheppard, Sr. and Lillie Bell Wilson Sheppard.

Jim was a graduate of Brooklyn-Cayce High School’s class of 1964, and earned his Associate’s Degree from Virginia Tech. He honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves and dedicated 30 years to Lexington Medical Center, where he retired as the Director of Radiology. He enjoyed bowling and treasured his time spent hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Lester Sheppard, Jr.

Surviving Mr. Sheppard is his wife of 42 years, Terri; children, James Hudlow (Charlotte) of Maryland, Troy Sheppard of South Carolina and Brett Sheppard (Kaitlyn) of Gilbert, SC; a sister, Janet Kelleher (Ed) of West Columbia, SC; five grandchildren, Preston Hudlow, Peyton Hudlow, Amelia Hudlow, Hudson Sheppard and Raleigh Sheppard.

A private family service will be held at Sharon Methodist Church.
