SHINABERRY, James Emerson.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the deeply felt news of the peaceful passing of James "Jim" Emerson Shinaberry on March 21, 2025, at the age of 75. James leaves behind his devoted wife, Judy, who stood by his side through the highs and lows of life for an incredible 54 years. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Jill (Mike) Teats, his dearest son, Jack (Christine) Shinaberry, and his beloved daughter, Juliet (Tom) Kalmeta, along with his adored grandchildren, Emerson, Lauren, Miro and Mila. he is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Bob (Marilyn) Shinaberry and Don Shinaberry. James preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret (Bodette) Shinaberry, and his dear sister Karen Langlois.
After graduating from Whitmer High School, Jim dedicated seven years of his life serving in the Air National Guard and the Reserve of the United States Air Force. His career was marked by an unwavering dedication and excellence in service, sales, management, and technical positions across four corporations. Following his retirement in 2009, Jim discovered true joy in spending quality moments with his family and friends.
A true renaissance man, Jim embraced a myriad of interests and talents with great passion. He was a skilled carpenter, an exquisite woodcarver, a stained glass artisan, a cast iron chef, a passionate tournament dart player, and an avid golfer, boater, angler, and a bow hunter, excelling at whatever he undertook. Jim was always there, a steadfast presence for family and friends in their times of need. His radiant spirit and boundless energy will be profoundly missed in this world.
Instate Wednesday from 11am until the time of the 11:30am Mass at St. Peter Church, 95 Market St, Mt Clemens, MI. 48043. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038. In lieu of flowers donations preferred to American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
