A memorial service for Mr. James “Garry” Simpson, 71, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, with Rev. Kyle Brian officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Simpson was born on November 3, 1953, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on July 4, 2025.
Mr. Simpson grew up in Memphis, TN, and was a member of Hillcrest High School Class of 1970 alumni. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, softball, golfing, and an avid bowler. He was a fan of Louisiana State University and New Orleans Saints. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his father, James Calvin Simpson, and mother, Anne Marie Simpson.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Simpson; brother, Steve Simpson (Patti); children, Amy McQuillin (Jerry), Brandon Simpson, and Ellie Burch (Travis); and grandchildren, Caleb Ramey, Jerico and Veda Burch, and Sophie Simpson.
