Mr. James Henry Smith

James (Jimmy) Henry Smith, 69, formerly of High Point, NC, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born in Mullins, South Carolina on October 10, 1953, to the late Jack Smith, Sr., and Hannah Hodges Smith Norwood. He attended High Point Central High School. He served in the Unites States Marine Corps from May 6, 1974, until May 7, 1976, and also in the United States Army from December 27, 1978 until December 12, 1982. He is survived by: one daughter, Cassaundra Graves of Marietta, GA; three sons, Atari (Claresia) Burke of Thomasville, NC, Joshua Smith, of Winston Salem, NC, and Marcus (Kelly) Smith of High Point, NC; one brother, Jack (Georgia) Smith, Jr. of Durham, NC; one brother-in-law, John Wilson of High Point, NC; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
