James Doyle Smith III, age 37, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on November 5, 2024. Born on March 6, 1987, James was the beloved son of Theresa Carnes and James Smith II. He was a man of warmth, kindness, and humor, bringing light to all who knew him. James was devoted to his family and held many cherished roles: a loving son, grandson, nephew, brother, uncle, husband, father, and friend.
James had a passion for cooking and fishing. He shared his culinary creations with family and friends and found joy in attending car shows with his daughter, Hayley. His laughter, kindness, and loyalty enriched the lives of those around him, creating treasured memories and bonds that will be forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, and his grandparents. James leaves behind a loving family to honor his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melanie Hutchinson, and his precious daughter, Hayley Smith; his father, James Smith II, and his mother and father, Theresa and Ron Carnes; his grandmother, Bernice Komoroski; his sister, Alisha Evanchyk, and his brother, Timothy Smith and his wife; his nieces, Jaycee Evanchyk and Eloise Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. The family welcomes flowers or donations made in James's name to the American Liver Foundation as a tribute to his memory.
